Rocky...1990 - 2005
Rocky...It broke our hearts to say goodbye. Neither of us really knew just how tightly you had wrapped your paws around our hearts. It's hard to know that we will never again look into your happy face, stroke your soft fur or hear you talking to us.
Of course we both knew you were getting older, but we were not prepared to lose you. We know how hard it was for your pride to give up so much of your independence as time went on. You came to rely so much on us for help and how we miss saying “come on...you can do it" or “let's go...be careful." You had always been such a tough, resilient guy and we both hoped and prayed that you would be with us for at least another year.
During your last few weeks with us, we could see that you were so very tired! We now know that you were ready to take your final journey and you were only hanging on for us. We will always remember your final day, how you looked at us and let us know it was time for you to go. We are very thankful we were able to be with you while the Doctor helped you cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you for giving us almost 15 years of your love and devotion! We will miss you for the rest of our lives.
Rest in peace our wonderful boy...you will live on in our hearts forever!
