Our family is fortunate to live on the beautiful south shore of Lake Ontario, about halfway between the Niagara River and Rochester, NY. Our house is nestled in a woods on a small point near the Oak Orchard River. The area got it's name because it was so heavily treed with giant red oaks that the early settlers named it "Oak Orchard." In fact, it was so dense with these massive trees that even the mid-day sun was blocked by the foliage prompting the Native Americans to call it the "Black North"
Our black lab "Rocky" enjoyed being in the lake most of all.
